Role: Creative Technologist

Overview

Cisco Live Circuit Challenge was an interactive AR racing game designed as part of the World of Solutions room at Cisco Live 2024. It was built with physical gameplay, digital overlays, and gamified learning to create an engaging activation within a high-density live event environment.

Problem / Purpose

The activation was designed to highlight Cisco’s partnership with McLaren through a format that felt immediately engaging, easy to understand and encouraging participation.

Process

I led the interaction design of the experience, developing how physical gameplay, AR elements, and real-time feedback worked together as a cohesive system. The experience was built around a physical racetrack where players controlled cars through game consoles, enhanced with AR elements to extend the gameplay beyond the physical space. I designed the full interaction flow, focusing on how players enter, compete, and receive feedback within a short engagement cycle. I also worked closely with design and technical teams to integrate the physical racetrack, AR overlays, and real-time competition into a responsive system that allowed both players and spectators to follow the race and engage with the experience collectively. The gamified structure reinforced learning by embedding brand and partnership messaging within gameplay rather than presenting it separately.

Outcome

The final experience translated the McLaren x Cisco Webex partnership into an interactive format, allowing players to engage with the “race behind the race” through gameplay. By embedding this narrative within a competitive AR racing game, the activation combined entertainment with learning, creating an experience that was both engaging and informative.
